REPORTING LINE
The Training & Competence Coordinator will report directly to the Culture and Development Lead.
LOCATION
Well-Safe Solutions, Aberdeen, though there may be the requirement to visit and work at other company locations as required.
ROLE
To support and coordinate the delivery of training and competence requirements across the business, ensuring training and competence activities are administered effectively, compliance requirements are met, and continuous improvement initiatives are implemented across offshore assets and onshore teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Training & Competence Coordinator will be required to:
- Develop and maintain relationships with training partners.
- Drive Training completion ensuring full compliance against the training matrix including recertification on training, organizing onboard trainers where required.
- Utilising Training Management System (TMS) to ensure accurate, up-to-date records are maintained and fully accessible.
- Coordinate Flag Minimum Safe Manning documentation across all assets – renewals, new applications and conversion of licenses.
- Support the ongoing administration and development opportunities of the Competence Management System (CMS), maintaining stakeholder engagement, supporting platform enhancements and monitoring compliance requirements.
- Carry out inductions for all new employees into the CMS ensuring they can access and use the CMS effectively.
- Support the Culture and Development Lead to ensure adequate Assessors and Verifiers are trained and are in place to support the CMS.
- Produce regular reports providing mandatory, overall training and Competence compliance for assets & teams where required.
- Support the Culture and Development Lead with the TMS & CMS platform development, working closely with the system providers to ensure we maximise output from the systems, including, regular and accurate management reporting.
- Review internal invoicing as appropriate, specifically highlighting any anomalies or client recharges to Culture and Development Lead.
- Attend industry Training & Competence forums & seminars to ensure kept abreast of industry updates.
- Support Culture and Development Lead where required.

KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCY
ESSENTIAL
- 3+ years Training and Competence experience within the oil & gas market, ideally within a drilling environment.
- Experience of using training & competence management systems
- Ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the business
- Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Methodical and organized with a keen attention to detail
- Strong communicator with lots of enthusiasm and energy
- Self starter, pro-active and willing to take on responsibility
- Efficient use of MS Office packages
DESIRED
- Valid Offshore Survival/Medical
- Understanding of OPITO CMS approval requirements
- Awareness of flag state – safe manning requirements
- Experience of using PowerBi
