Training & Competence (T&C) Supervisor

Location: Leeds – Hybrid Working (1 day per week in office)

The Opportunity

We are working with a leading UK financial services organisation seeking an experienced Training & Competence (T&C) Supervisor to join its established supervision team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising Financial Advisers, including employed and self-employed advisers and Appointed Representative firms, ensuring they achieve and maintain the required levels of competence in line with FCA regulations and internal business standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in financial advice supervision who enjoys coaching, developing and supporting advisers.

The role offers hybrid working, with some attendance required at the Leeds office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise Financial Advisers through the initial and ongoing stages of the Training & Competence framework.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings, coaching sessions, competency assessments and annual role-plays.
  • Monitor and evaluate adviser performance against KPIs, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ensure advisers consistently meet FCA regulatory requirements and internal business standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to advisers on regulatory, competence and supervision-related queries.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date adviser supervision and competency records.
  • Build strong working relationships with advisers, providing constructive feedback and ongoing development support.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous experience within financial services, ideally in a T&C, adviser supervision or financial advice environment.
  • Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning – Essential.
  • Strong knowledge of FCA regulations and financial advice supervision requirements.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to assess adviser performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • H15 or J07 supervisory qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
