Job Introduction

Internal Landmarc Applications Only

As the Training Area Manager, you are responsible for making sure the site and training area meet our customer’s needs, you will be based at Hythe Ranges in Hythe, Kent and responsible for a team of Operatives including the Training Area Supervisor, Team Leader and Training Area Operatives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the site and ranges and carry out routine inspections
  • Carry out risk assessments and method statements
  • Manage range accommodation usage
  • Identify and deliver reactive maintenance tasks
  • Manage contractors
  • Liaise with stakeholders
  • Provide technical advice on site facilities, ranges, training facilities and training areas
  • Complete documentation using IT systems

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety (essential)
  • All aspects of Range Safety and Design
  • Scheduling work
  • Environmental legislation
  • Matrix management
  • Workload scheduling

  • Able to deliver service to tight deadlines and appropriate quality standards
  • Manage team and scheduling to meet needs of Training and Range operation and management
  • Understand Military Range Safety Procedures
  • Able to communicate clearly with the client/customer
  • Workforce planning skills
  • Drive continuous improvement
  • Able to manage and work with contractors/sub-contractors
  • Performance manage teams and outputs by utilising management tools
  • Interpret and apply range orders/standing orders and JSPs
  • Able to undertake by inspection ranges, training facilities and training area, identify and progress routine reactive maintenance tasks
