Job Description

The Training and Competency Specialist administers and supports employee training, competency assurance, and onboarding programs to ensure personnel are qualified, compliant, and prepared to perform their roles safely and effectively. This position partners with Operations, Human Resources Managers, and Training Providers to coordinate training activities, maintain competency records, support workforce development initiatives, and manage new hire onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and administer training, competency, and onboarding programs.
  • Monitor employee compliance with training, certifications, and competency requirements.
  • Maintain accurate training and competency records within company systems.
  • Generate training reports and compliance metrics for management.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of training and competency processes.
  • Coordinate training schedules, resources, and third-party training providers.
  • Facilitate onboarding activities and role-specific training plans for new hires.
  • Partner with managers to identify training needs and workforce development opportunities.
  • Support internal and external audits related to training and competency requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and HSEQ standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting technical, industrial, offshore, or operational environments.
  • Experience with competency-based workforce development programs.
  • Knowledge of training management systems such as Oracle Fusion or similar platforms.
  • Degree or equivalent experience, Training and Development preferred.
  • Experienced in the development, updating, and administration of competency programs.
  • Extensive knowledge of training required to support HSE and Manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrable experience in training administration, learning and development, competency management, or a related field.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
