We're looking for a Training Compliance Officer to join Capita Fire & Rescue, playing a key role in ensuring training delivery meets Defence and regulatory standards. Working within the Training Provider Management Organisation (TPMO), you'll conduct assurance activities across training establishments, fire stations, and subcontracted training locations, helping to maintain excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement across the service.

  • Conducting 1st Line of Defence Assurance (1LoDA) activities in line with JSP 822 and direction from the Training Compliance and Safety Manager, Training Requirements Authority (TRA), and Training Delivery Authority (TDA).
  • Producing formal training assurance reports, identifying findings, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitoring, recording and tracking assurance actions.
  • Gathering, analysing and presenting Internal Validation (InVal) findings, identifying trends and promoting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Building positive relationships with stakeholders across the business, attending meetings on behalf of the Training Compliance and Safety Manager when required, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, regulations, and guidance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
