Training and Competence Coordinator

TEXO are looking for a proactive and highly organised Training and Competence Coordinator to join our People & Culture team in Westhill.

This role will support and coordinate the delivery of training and competence requirements across the business, ensuring activities are administered effectively, compliance requirements are met, and training and competence records remain accurate, current and auditable. You will work closely with employees, managers, supervisors and external training providers to support training delivery, competency assurance and ongoing development across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Training Coordination

  • Coordinate and administer company training programmes and development initiatives.
  • Drive training completion and ensure compliance with the training matrix, including recertification requirements.
  • Maintain training schedules, matrices and employee learning records.
  • Arrange internal and external training courses, instructors, venues and resources.
  • Raise purchase orders and manage associated invoices.
  • Arrange accommodation for training where required.
  • Support induction and onboarding training for new employees.

Competence Management

  • Maintain competence assurance frameworks for safety-critical and role-specific activities.
  • Coordinate employee competency assessments and verification processes.
  • Track individual competency status and identify gaps.
  • Monitor competence assurance activities and supporting evidence.
  • Ensure competency records are accurate, current and auditable.

Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Maintain visibility of role, site, client and mobilisation-specific training and competence requirements.
  • Actively manage training expiries and recertification requirements.
  • Ensure activities comply with relevant legislation, industry standards and company procedures.
  • Prepare information and reports for internal audits, external audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Support continuous improvement of training and competence management systems.
  • Maintain document control for training procedures, standards and records.

Data Management and Reporting

  • Maintain training and competence trackers.
  • Produce regular reports covering training completion, competency status and other relevant compliance data.
  • Analyse training and competence data to identify trends, gaps and development needs.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with employees, managers, supervisors and external training providers.
  • Support managers with training requirements and relevant competence standards.
  • Assist employees with learning and development enquiries.
  • Promote a positive learning and development culture across the organisation.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience within training coordination, Learning & Development or competency management.
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Confidence working with data, reporting and record management.
  • Must have right to work in UK.

Desirable Qualifications

  • CIPD qualification or working towards.
  • Assessor qualification such as CAVA, A1 or D32-D33.
  • Learning & Development qualification.
