Role: Training Coordinator – Motor Vehicle

Location

Tresham College – Corby Campus or Bedford College – Brunel Road

Salary/Benefits

Salary is between £33,048 and £41,085 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 35 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks

37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type

Permanent – Full Time

About The Role

We are currently seeking a Training Coordinator in Motor Vehicle to join our Apprenticeships department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Training Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Apprenticeship Coordination & Learner Progress

    • Manage the end-to-end Motor Vehicle apprenticeship journey, completing robust initial assessments, coordinating induction, reviewing progress and setting SMART targets to support successful and timely completion.
  • Training, Assessment & Coaching

    • Deliver and assess high-quality, industry-relevant Motor Vehicle training, providing coaching, mentoring and constructive feedback to develop apprentices’ knowledge, skills and behaviours.
  • Employer Engagement & Workplace Support

    • Build effective relationships with employers and teaching teams, coordinate workplace assessment visits and progress reviews, monitor workplace health and safety, and ensure training plans meet individual learner and employer needs.
  • Quality Assurance, Compliance & Administration

    • Maintain accurate, audit-ready learner records, ensure compliance with apprenticeship funding and awarding body requirements, and contribute to internal quality assurance, standardisation and external verification activities.
  • Learner Support & Professional Standards

    • Collaborate with student support services, contribute to curriculum improvement and CPD, and uphold College policies and values relating to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, and health and safety.

About You

  • Qualifications & Motor Vehicle Expertise

    • Holds a Level 3 Motor Vehicle qualification, TAQA Level 3 Assessor Award and Level 2/GCSE qualifications, supported by recent commercial or industry experience within the Motor Vehicle sector.
  • Technical & Workshop Skills

    • Demonstrates strong practical knowledge of workshop safety, technical documentation, vehicle maintenance and repair, with the ability to apply current industry skills effectively.
  • Learner & Caseload Management

    • Able to independently manage a learner caseload and diary, work proactively, meet demanding targets, and provide consistent support to help apprentices develop and succeed.
  • Communication & Employer Engagement

    • Communicates effectively with learners, employers and other stakeholders, providing a professional service and building positive relationships that support learner progress and customer satisfaction.
  • Professional Development, Inclusion & Flexibility

    • Passionate about supporting the next generation of Motor Vehicle Technicians, committed to equality and diversity and developing new skills, with the flexibility to travel across a geographical area as required.
