Role: Training Coordinator – Plumbing
Location: Tresham College – Corby Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £33,048 and £41,085 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 35 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About The Role
We are currently seeking a Training Coordinator in Plumbing to join our Apprenticeships department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Training Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Apprenticeship Coordination & Learner Progress - Manage the end-to-end apprenticeship journey for Plumbing and Gas learners, completing robust initial assessments, coordinating induction, monitoring progress and setting SMART targets to support timely achievement.
- Training, Assessment & Coaching - Deliver industry-relevant training, assessment, coaching and mentoring across Plumbing Levels 2 and 3, Gas Level 3 and ACS, helping apprentices develop the required knowledge, skills and behaviours and build effective portfolios of evidence.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance - Maintain accurate learner and assessment records, ensure evidence meets awarding body and apprenticeship funding requirements, and contribute to internal quality assurance, standardisation, external verification and audit processes.
- Employer Engagement & Learner Support - Build strong relationships with employers, coordinate workplace visits and progress reviews, monitor workplace health and safety, provide regular progress updates and work with support teams to ensure individual learner needs are addressed.
- Curriculum Development & Professional Standards - Contribute to curriculum improvement and bespoke employer programmes, share best practice and undertake continuous professional development while promoting safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, health and safety, and College policies and values.

About You
- Qualifications & Sector Credentials - Holds Level 2 English and Maths, relevant Level 2 and 3 Plumbing qualifications, Gas Level 3, ACS and Gas Safe credentials, alongside an A1 Assessor or TAQA qualification.
- Industry, Training & Assessment Experience - Brings recent commercial or industrial experience, with proven expertise in delivering, assessing and coordinating competence-based programmes and knowledge of current assessment, verification and industry standards.
- Learner Engagement & Caseload Management - Able to motivate and support learners towards timely qualification completion, independently manage a caseload and diary, monitor learner progress, and work proactively to achieve demanding targets.
- Administration, Communication & Employer Engagement - Strong administrative and coordination skills, maintaining audit-ready learner records while communicating effectively with learners, employers and work-based providers and identifying potential business development opportunities.
- Professionalism, Flexibility & Customer Service - Demonstrates strong time management, customer service and equality and diversity awareness, with a flexible approach to work and the ability to travel across a geographical area to support learners and employers.
