About the Role

The Training Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality technical training to customers and employees across FANUC's range of products and automation solutions. The role combines practical instruction, course development, technical expertise, and customer engagement to ensure delegates develop the knowledge and skills required to operate, program, maintain, and optimize FANUC systems safely and effectively. As a key member of the Academy team, the Training Instructor will contribute to customer satisfaction, capability development, business growth, and the ongoing success of the FANUC Academy through the delivery of industry-leading training programs and technical expertise.

Your Core Tasks

Training Delivery

  • Deliver practical and classroom-based training courses on FANUC robotic products and systems to customers and employees.
  • Train delegates in robot operation and safety, programming, commissioning, optimization, maintenance, vision systems, simulation, networking/fieldbus communications, and new technologies.
  • Prepare training equipment and products for course delivery.

Course Development

  • Develop practical exercises, assessments, and training documentation in line with market demands.
  • Support the development of new training courses to meet customer and business requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to delegates.
  • Identify training needs and recommend appropriate learning pathways.

Health & Safety

  • Maintain a safe, professional, and fully operational training academy.
  • Promote and enforce safe working practices.
  • Ensure training equipment, facilities, and activities comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.

Customer Excellence

  • Build strong relationships with customers and delegates.
  • Gather feedback and continuously improve training content and delivery methods.

General

  • Represent FANUC at customer visits, exhibitions, and open houses.
  • Contribute to Academy revenue, utilisation, and customer satisfaction targets/KPIs.
  • Undertake any other duties within the scope of the role as required by the Head of Customer Service.

Your Profile

  • Minimum 4 years' experience working with industrial robotic systems.
  • Experience delivering technical training courses (desirable).
  • HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience programming and commissioning FANUC robots.
  • Strong understanding of industrial health and safety practices, with the ability to communicate safe robot operating procedures effectively.
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about robotics and automation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, customer relationship, and IT skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to changing business requirements.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages would be advantageous.

Additional Requirements

  • May be required to support wider operational initiatives as needed.
  • Support internal projects and implementation activities.
  • Travel to customer sites and FANUC offices in the UK and overseas as required.

Legal Requirements

The candidate must have the legal right to work in the UK and be located within approximately 45 minutes of the facility, as this role requires an on-site presence at our FANUC Coventry office.
