I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This is a full-time position based primarily at our Hereford office and training facility, with some flexibility for home working. Occasional UK and international travel is required.
Why this role
This is the training function, not a corner of it. You will own it, shape it, and see the results directly with clients. The subject matter is genuinely interesting, the team is small enough that your decisions carry, and there is real scope to build the role around your strengths as the company grows.
About you
We are particularly interested in applicants with a background in training, defence, security, government, law enforcement or a comparable operational environment.

You will be organised and professional, comfortable running several training activities at once, and confident working directly with clients, instructors and other stakeholders. Strong communication skills are essential.
Experience of training management, instructional design, course development or quality assurance is an advantage. We are equally interested in candidates with strong operational and instructional experience who are ready to step into a training management role. Formal training qualifications are welcome but not a requirement where experience demonstrates capability.
Given the nature of our work, discretion and sound judgement in handling sensitive information are essential.
