Training Manager - UK

Location: Warrington, UK

Travel: Approximately 20%

Function: Automation / Service / Learning & Development

About the Role

We are looking for a Training Manager to build and lead our UK automation training capability.

This is a unique opportunity for either an experienced technical trainer looking to deepen their expertise in industrial automation, or an automation engineer ready to transition into a role focused on coaching, knowledge sharing, and capability development.

As the UK's training lead, you will play a pivotal role in helping customers, engineers, and future talent develop the skills needed to succeed with Valmet's next-generation automation solutions. You won't just deliver training. You'll help shape how automation knowledge is developed, shared, and scaled across the region.

Working closely with customers, service teams, automation experts, and global stakeholders, you will build a high-impact learning function that strengthens customer success, supports business growth, and develops future automation talent.

Who This Role Is Perfect For

You could be:

  • An automation, controls, DCS, PLC, commissioning, or process engineer who enjoys mentoring colleagues, training customers, and sharing technical knowledge.
  • A technical trainer with an industrial or engineering background who wants to specialise in advanced automation technologies.
  • A subject matter expert who is passionate about helping others learn and excited by the opportunity to build a training capability from the ground up.

What matters most is your ability to make complex technical concepts easy to understand and your enthusiasm for developing people.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
