Training Officer - Term Time + 3 Weeks | 37 Hours per Week
Location: Welwyn Garden City
Salary: £29,944 - £31,603 per annum (DOE)

At HCL, we're looking for a Training Officer to support and inspire our catering teams across Hertfordshire, London and the South of England. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with food service, training or operational experience who enjoys helping others succeed.
No two weeks are the same. As HCL continues to expand across Hertfordshire, London, the South of England and into new regions including Birmingham, you'll have the opportunity to work with a wide range of teams, support exciting new contract launches and play a key role in developing our people. This is a varied and rewarding role that combines training delivery, coaching and operational support.

As part of our ambitious growth plans, you'll work across both established and newly mobilised sites, helping to embed HCL's high standards from day one. Due to the geographical scope of our growing business, regular travel between sites is required, along with occasional overnight stays to support training programmes, mobilisations and new business opportunities.
You'll deliver engaging training, support new contract mobilisations, identify skills gaps and help ensure our teams provide safe, high-quality food services to thousands of children every day.
What you'll be doing
- Deliver practical food safety, health & safety and operational training.
- Coach and develop catering teams across multiple sites.
- Support apprentices, work experience students and emerging talent.
- Help mobilise new contracts and prepare teams for successful launches.
- Review and improve training materials and programmes.
- Identify skills gaps and support career development.
- Promote best practice, compliance and operational excellence.

What we're looking for
- Experience delivering training, coaching or developing teams.
- Background in catering, food service or a related operational environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and compliance standards.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
- Good IT skills (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Flexibility to travel regularly and undertake occasional overnight stays.
