About the Role
We have a fantastic opportunity to be part of the CITB Customer Engagement Team as a Training Provider Relationship Manager, where you will be engaging with training providers on behalf of CITB. You will build and maintain positive relationships with providers who deliver construction training, while also supporting their business development needs. A good understanding of the construction skills landscape, alongside experience within construction training, would be highly beneficial in this role. You will use this knowledge to understand the challenges and opportunities facing training providers and support them effectively within an evolving construction skills landscape.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable travelling extensively across Great Britain to meet and build rapport with our customers, and a keen collaborator who can ensure clear communication channels with colleagues across the business. You will manage stakeholder expectations across CITB and your customers. You’ll be the main point of contact for our customers and will need to support their business development in an evolving construction skills landscape.
What you’ll be doing:
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead responsibility for relationships with a caseload of providers.
- Grow the network through business development activities, promoting opportunities to eligible training providers and supporting them through sign up/other contracting processes.
- Conduct regular review meetings which consider provider performance from a range of perspectives.
- Maintain links and engagement with key teams including Employer Networks, New Entrant Support Teams (NEST), Quality and Standards, and Products; and with services delivered by our enabling partner to ensure provider experience is managed holistically.
- Advocate on behalf of providers, giving feedback and insight to relevant internal stakeholders on the operation of the network and potential improvements.
- Maintain broad, up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the full CITB offer and the construction sector including an excellent understanding of the Training Provider Network and associated processes.
- Represent CITB at meetings, large scale events with providers, employers, and stakeholders, and on social media channels.
- Communicate and present the full breadth of the CITB offer, and insights/forecasting, adapting, and developing new presentations and materials depending on the needs of the audience.
- Work with colleagues across the business to respond to complex provider queries or informal complaints. Escalate queries or seek expert input in the right part of the organisation on a needs-led basis.
- Maintain accurate records of customer engagement using CRM (other reporting tools as appropriate), provide written narrative and analysis for internal and external audiences.
- Represent the engagement team on internal projects or relationship management meetings as required.
- In the devolved nations, provide nation-specific training provision insight to aid with skills policy influencing, where applicable and as requested.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
