Area of Interest: Transaction Banking

Business Area: Corporate and Institutional Banking

Short Description: Keep complex deals moving as a trusted partner for lenders, borrowers and investors

About the business area

Corporate and Institutional Banking helps some of the world’s largest companies grow and succeed by offering investment and financial solutions. Working across markets, sectors and borders, you’ll help deliver the insight, connectivity and support that enable clients to navigate change and unlock new opportunities.

Our Issuer Services teams support and enhance the corporate strategies of leading global companies, financial institutions and capital market investors, providing tailored corporate trust and loan agency solutions.

Who you are

You’re someone who communicates well, builds relationships naturally and takes pride in doing things properly. You don’t need to know everything about banking yet — bring your curiosity, initiative and willingness to learn, and we’ll help with the rest. You could be a great fit if you enjoy working with different people, adapting your communication style and staying organised when handling detail-heavy work. You take ownership, think ahead and care about delivering to a high standard. You’re also trustworthy and understand why confidentiality and integrity matter, especially when information is sensitive. If you want to learn in a client-focused environment where precision, professionalism and collaboration all matter, this could be a strong fit.

What you'll do

You’ll join an Issuer Services team focused on either business development or client services, helping support clients through complex transactions. You could contribute to market and deal research, help prepare presentations and client materials, support logistics, admin or marketing activity, and join meetings or events to see how long-term client relationships are managed. You’ll work with colleagues across Product, Marketing, Legal and Regulatory Compliance, and may also interact with external stakeholders such as investment banks, corporates, issuers, lenders and law firms. It’s varied work that gives you a practical view of how teams collaborate to deliver strong service in a detailed, high-stakes environment. The internship also includes structured assessments aligned to securing a graduate role, giving you chances to demonstrate how you think, collaborate and deliver, through tasks such as project work, presentations, interviews or skills-based evaluations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
