Job Description

Purpose of the Role

To determine, negotiate and agree internal quality procedures, service standards and specification to improve performance and quality directing objectives.

Accountabilities

  • Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in quality assurance Services.
  • Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate quality assurance processes.
  • Development and governance of internal quality assurance procedures, standards and specifications, and act as a catalyst for change, mitigate risks and maintain efficient operations.
  • Development of reports and presentations on quality assurance performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
  • Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations for change in quality assurance processes and provide feedback and coaching for colleagues on these highlighted areas.
  • Execution of service quality assessments to monitor the quality objectives set by the bank, and ensure they comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Participation in projects and initiatives to improve quality assurance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Determination of risk based on outcome of QA reviews, flagging risks that are outside of tolerance.

  • Make evaluative judgements based on the analysis of factual information, paying attention to detail.
  • Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and will be guided by precedents.
  • Guide and persuade team members and communicate complex / sensitive information.
  • Act as contact point for stakeholders outside of the immediate function, while building a network of contacts outside team and external to the organisation.

Join us as a Transaction Monitoring Barclays UK Quality Assurance Analyst at BA4 level

Where you will review Barclays UK investigations to assess whether financial crime risks have been appropriately identified, investigated, evidenced, and concluded. Following training and accreditation, you will apply the Quality Assurance methodology, relevant policies, standards and procedures to complete accurate, evidence-based reviews, clearly record findings and support the timely remediation of identified issues. You will work with experienced Quality Assurance colleagues and subject matter experts to build your technical capability, contribute to consistent quality outcomes and support continuous improvement across the Transaction Monitoring Quality Assurance framework.

Requirements

To be successful as a Transaction Monitoring Barclays UK Quality Assurance Analyst, you should have:

  • Extensive experience in Transaction Monitoring investigations, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or a related Financial Crime role, with exposure to Barclays UK customer types, including Personal and Business Banking customers.
  • Good working knowledge of money laundering, terrorist financing, and sanctions risks, with an understanding of customer risk indicators, transactional red flags, high-risk jurisdictions, adverse media, source of funds/wealth considerations and suspicious activity reporting requirements.
  • The ability to review investigations against defined policies, standards, procedures and Quality Assurance guidance, identify gaps in evidence, rationale or risk assessment, and record clear, accurate and proportionate findings.
  • Sound analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess customer activity and transaction patterns, identify potential financial crime risks, recognise relevant red flags and escalate complex or uncertain matters through the appropriate governance channels.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to provide constructive feedback and work collaboratively with colleagues and operational stakeholders.

Other Highly Valued Skills

  • Experience using case management, screening, transaction monitoring or workflow systems within a financial crime environment.
  • An understanding of Quality Assurance sampling, checklists, error classification, remediation and appeal processes.
  • Experience maintaining accurate trackers or records and contributing to management information, trend identification or root-cause analysis.
  • A commitment to completing role-specific training, achieving and maintaining accreditation, responding positively to coaching and continuously developing Correspondent Banking expertise.
  • A financial crime qualification, such as ICA or ACAMS, or a willingness to work towards a relevant qualification.
