Join us as a Transaction Monitoring & Filtering Financial Crime Lead

This is a high-profile role, where you’ll be the expert in ensuring our Transaction Monitoring and Filtering controls are aligned with our business strategy and compliant with financial crime policy, external laws and regulations. You’ll support us directly in preventing money laundering, breaches of sanctions, terrorism financing, bribery and corruption within our franchises.

What you’ll do

As a Transaction Monitoring & Filtering Financial Crime Lead, you’ll lead strategic optimisation and segmentation of scenario across our markets business to ensure they are reflective of relevant laws and regulations, while establishing and maintaining operating procedures and controls to meet both the banks’ and local policy requirements.

Throughout the course of your work, you’ll build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders in product, operations, and compliance to ensure requirements are embedded within new products, features, or operational processes. Alongside this, you’ll support and mentor your colleagues and oversee an effective approach towards development and training, succession planning and talent management.

Additionally, you'll:

  • Collaborate with product, technology and operations to create and execute a strategic roadmap of transaction monitoring activities and capabilities
  • Maintain external knowledge of industry trends, tools and emerging threats and risks as it relates to fraud risk & client expected behaviour monitoring
  • Work independently and comfortably in a fast paced, ambiguous, and often multi-directional work environment
  • Set the procedural standards that regional and operational teams execute against, and oversee local variations required by jurisdictional obligations without fragmenting the global program

The skills you’ll need

We’re looking for someone with a deep understanding of Transaction Monitoring & Filtering in the context of an institutional markets business. You’ll need technical expertise of relevant political and legislative developments across the financial industry, with the ability to guide and influence business representatives on related matters.

It’s also crucial that you have the leadership skills to empower teams to actively challenge how we do things.

You’ll also need:

  • Significant experience in financial crime compliance with deep transaction monitoring ownership
  • Demonstrable ownership of a monitoring coverage framework, including the ability to depend scope to external stakeholders
  • Strong command of financial crime typologies across AML, sanction, and fraud, and how they manifest differently by product and payment rails
  • The ability to build trust and demonstrate value, applying expertise to credibly influence customers, working in partnership with stakeholders
