Your New Role

You will be responsible for leading the day-to-day transactional finance function, ensuring financial operations are delivered accurately, efficiently and in accordance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and developing a team of Finance Assistants, allocating workloads and monitoring performance
  • Leading all day-to-day finance operations, ensuring work is prioritised and completed within agreed service standards
  • Providing expert financial guidance and support to stakeholders across the organisation
  • Reviewing and approving monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining strong financial controls
  • Acting as a key contact for internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate information is provided
  • Managing complex financial queries and resolving operational issues
  • Building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, banks and professional advisers
  • Calculating and processing financial payments, remittances and reconciliations
  • Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and efficiencies
  • Supporting finance system upgrades, testing and implementation projects
  • Managing finance system access and user permissions
  • Ensuring compliance with GDPR and relevant financial regulations
  • Leading performance reviews, coaching and development activities within the team

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Proven experience leading a transactional finance team within a busy finance environment
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • Excellent understanding of financial controls, reconciliations and operational finance processes
  • Experience of managing audits and working with external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience of finance systems and process improvement initiatives
  • A proactive, organised and customer-focused approach
