Tax Manager – Transfer Pricing (Compliance and Transformation)

Base Location: Birmingham or Manchester

What You Will Be Doing

Leading global transfer pricing compliance projects, including:

  • Preparing and reviewing transfer pricing local files, master files, and TP returns across multiple jurisdictions for diverse clients
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships for global compliance projects
  • Managing project execution, from scoping to delivery
  • Conducting functional interviews with clients to analyse and drive pricing strategies
  • Identifying key industry features influencing transaction pricing and documenting trends
  • Preparing and reviewing benchmarking analyses using TNMM (Transactional Net Margin Method) and CUP (Comparable Uncontrolled Price)
  • Documenting transfer pricing policies for clients
  • Implementing and leveraging KPMG’s transfer pricing technology for local file preparation and review
  • Assisting clients with tax authority enquiries and litigation support
  • Coordinating with global tax, indirect tax, and transformation teams for strategic solutions
  • Coaching junior team members and mentoring technical growth
  • Driving process improvements and shaping compliance strategies within the TP team
  • Leading or contributing to business development initiatives, including scoping proposals, preparing quotes, and pitching to clients

What You Will Need

Qualifications and Experience

  • A professional qualification such as CTA, CA, ACA, or ACCA or a Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in economics, finance, law, accounting, or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of transfer pricing experience, ideally including:
    • Preparation/ review of transfer pricing documentation and local files
    • Conducting/ participating in functional interviews
    • Preparing/reviewing functional analyses and benchmarking
    • Supporting tax authority enquiries
    • Project management

Skills

  • Strong project management/co-ordination skills, with experience in:
    • Global tax/accounting compliance outsourcing or similar programmes
    • Process design and implementation
    • Change management and stakeholder engagement
  • Sound judgement with risk awareness, including knowing when to escalate issues
  • High-level analytical and commercial acumen for resolving technical and advisory challenges
  • Drive, positivity, and enthusiasm with a results-focused attitude
  • Commercial awareness and a willingness to develop technical specialisation
  • Keen interest in transfer pricing compliance obligations, including ongoing training
  • Ethical awareness in client service environments
  • Strong relationship management, with strong UK and international client engagement
  • Clear communication and project management skills
  • Technical understanding of compliance technology (desirable)
