### Responsibilities

The Waste Transfer Station Operator based at Gwent Waste Transfer Station will assist the Transfer Station Site Manager in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the station and its development. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting inspections, analysis, and routing for incoming wastes
  • Arranging and preparing waste for outgoing loads, ensuring compliance with all required legislation
  • Maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping at the Gwent WTS
  • Ensuring stock is managed and stored in accordance with legislation, guidance, and local procedures
  • Liaising with customer service and technical assessment departments to resolve issues such as non-conformance
  • Ensuring the most appropriate disposal route is used for maximum profitability
  • Supporting the site management team in upholding the company’s Health and Safety and business systems policies
  • Maintaining relevant records and ensuring adherence to systems and procedures
  • Providing cover for the waste transfer station manager during periods of annual leave, sickness, or as required by business needs
  • Performing any other reasonable duties as requested by the Waste Transfer Station Manager

### Requirements

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • A degree in Chemistry or a closely related subject

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Computer literacy (essential): Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • SAP experience is desirable but training will be provided if required
