An Opportunity to Join Our Transfer Station Team

An opportunity has arisen to join the hardworking team at our Transfer Station as an Operative.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday 6am to 14.30pm
  • Saturday mornings (alternating) 6.00am to 10 am

Hourly Rate:

  • £13.41 per hour

A Quick Look at the Role

As a Transfer Station Operative, you’ll play an active role in the day-to-day running of the site, from weighing in vehicles and assisting with recycling movements to keeping the yard clean, safe, and well organised. You’ll be part of a close-knit team, using equipment such as a telehandler, supporting drivers, and making sure the site runs smoothly in a busy but friendly industrial environment.

Your Core Responsibilities

  • Operating the site weighbridge (full training will be provided) to record vehicle movements accurately.
  • Assisting with the safe and efficient handling of mixed recycling, ensuring materials are loaded into vehicles using a telehandler.
  • Supporting drivers with loading and unloading activities.
  • Keeping the site clean, tidy, and safe at all times, in line with health and safety standards.
  • Carrying out routine checks on equipment and reporting any issues promptly.
  • Working as part of a small, supportive team in an industrial and commercial environment (non-hazardous waste).
  • Following site procedures to ensure compliance with environmental and operational standards.
  • Being flexible to support other general yard and operational duties as needed.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
