At Cory, we play a vital role in keeping London clean and sustainable by managing waste responsibly. Our Transfer Station at Northumberland Wharf is a key part of this mission, and we’re looking for a dedicated Transfer Station Operative to join our hardworking team. This is more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to contribute to a cleaner city and a greener future.

As a Transfer Station Operative, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring the smooth and safe handling of household and commercial waste. You’ll work closely with a team of skilled operatives, supporting the day-to-day running of the site and occasionally assisting at the Reuse and Recycling Centre (RRC). Every task you take on helps us deliver an efficient service to the community.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating machinery and cranes, or learning to do so if you’re new to this area.
  • Helping maintain a clean and tidy site, ensuring we meet health and safety standards and keep our neighbours happy by preventing complaints.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
