Be part of an investigation team for Serious and Organised Crime!
Join us now as a (South Hub) SOC Investigator DC within EMSOU where no two days are the same.
EMSOU is one of the largest collaborative policing units in the country, delivering specialist capabilities on behalf of the five East Midlands police forces & focuses on intelligence gathering and the disruption and investigation of serious and organised crime.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Investigating problems, targets and offences – acting as ‘officer in the case’, ensuring the investigation is carried out thoroughly and expeditiously in accordance with investigation policy and relevant legal requirements.
- Preparing and presenting case files, working with the Crown Prosecution Service to progress the case.
Although this post has a central location within the Region, applicants must be flexible, as they may be required to work at various locations in Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Northants, Leicestershire, and Derbyshire dependant on operational necessity. At times the role will require the post-holder to work at locations outside the region.
The Must Haves
- Confirmed in the rank of and be an accredited Detective (PIP2).
- Experience of Major and / or Serious Crime investigations particularly of a complex and protracted nature.
- Holding a full driving licence is essential for this role. Officers are required to undertake operational duties that involve travel, including occasional short-notice deployments.

Security Requirements
This post requires regular access to sensitive material and applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo enhanced security clearance before taking up the post. The material may be of sensitivity to the UK and may therefore be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances, dual nationals (of which one element is British) may be granted access. However, if potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed, the post holder will not be permitted access to the systems or material required for the role and will not therefore be able to perform their duties. For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants who do not hold or achieve the required levels of security clearance requirements cannot be offered the post.

Officer contributions from each of the five forces are managed on a monthly basis and at the current time Leicestershire and Lincolnshire are at maximum capacity. Therefore, officers currently working in these forces are unlikely to be supported to apply and / or released - please speak to your manager in the first instance.
