Job Description
This is a pivotal leadership role, joining a small and collaborative executive team committed to delivering OPG’s strategy of being customer focused, innovating and modernising together. This role is critical in shaping and delivering OPG strategic roadmap, driving forward OPG’s transformation portfolio, developing customer insight capabilities and supporting change and innovation throughout OPG, along with making sure OPG has the capability and capacity for the future.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting into the Public Guardian and Chief Executive, you will:
- Ensure the delivery of OPG’s transformation portfolio, including Modernising Lasting Powers of Attorney which is critical to OPG’s longer-term financial stability and improving customer experience and outcomes.
- Develop and implement OPG’s Target Operating Model and Strategic Workforce Plan, including planning for and delivering significant people change.
- Set clear strategic direction for OPG, along with development of the roadmap to deliver OPG’s strategy.
- Strengthen customer insight and experience to drive evidence-based decision making and improved services.
- Champion innovation, including drawing together initiatives that test and embed AI in OPG.
- Strengthen and promote the reputation of OPG across government and externally.
- Be a visible, approachable and authentic leader as part of the Executive team, building a positive and engaged culture, and nurture resilient and well-functioning teams.
- Provide challenge, support and scrutiny as a member of OPG Executive Committee, Portfolio and Change Board, and wider OPG governance.
- As part of the senior leadership team, support OPG through a period of significant change and be adaptable to changing responsibilities.
You should provide clear evidence and examples that demonstrate how you meet the essential and desirable criteria for the role.

Essential Experience
- Experience of leading and setting direction for large, diverse teams with oversight of a broad portfolio of work, including building and empowering resilient teams able to prioritise and adapt to new challenges.
- Experience of strategic development and delivery – experience of turning ambition into achievements.
- Experience of being part of a leadership team managing an organisation through significant change and transformation to achieve better quality service for customers.
- Able to work collaboratively across organisational lines to achieve shared objectives by developing excellent relationships.
- Proven experience of gripping complex issues, setting clear priorities and delivering through others to agreed timescales.
