Transformation Lead, Discovery | 12 Month Contract | London Hybrid

£800 P/D Inside IR35

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Transformation Lead to join the Discovery function of a leading life science organisation. Reporting to the Executive Director, Discovery, you’ll translate strategy into a cohesive transformation programme delivering measurable business outcomes.

You'll turn strategic priorities into actionable programmes across business architecture, operating model design, organisational change, process transformation and technology enablement.

The successful candidate will bring strong transformation leadership, strategic thinking and senior stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align people, processes, technology and governance to deliver complex organisational change.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Partner with the ED, Discovery and Senior Leadership Team to translate strategy into a clear transformation roadmap.
  • Lead the development of future-state business architecture, capability models and target operating models.
  • Establish and oversee a portfolio of strategic transformation initiatives, ensuring effective governance, delivery and benefits realisation.
  • Drive organisational design, process transformation and changes to ways of working.
  • Develop prioritisation frameworks, success measures and performance metrics to ensure transformation delivers measurable outcomes.
  • Lead transformation governance, managing risks, dependencies, investment and organisational readiness.
  • Work closely with HR, Communications and senior stakeholders to drive effective change and adoption.
  • Challenge existing operating models and ways of working to improve effectiveness, scalability and organisational performance.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Significant leadership experience delivering enterprise-wide transformation within complex organisations.
  • Proven experience translating strategic objectives into large-scale implementation plans.
  • Strong expertise in operating model design, business architecture and organisational design.
  • Extensive programme and portfolio management experience.
  • Track record of delivering transformation across people, process, technology, governance and culture.
  • Experience working with Executive Committees, Boards and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial, financial and organisational acumen.

Desirable

  • Experience within charities, foundations, research, healthcare, public sector or other mission-led organisations.
  • Experience of enterprise-wide digital transformation.
  • Qualification in business architecture, programme management, organisational design or change management.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and operating model methodologies.
