P2P Transformation Lead
12-Month Interim Contract
Day rate - £350-500 per day
Location: Gillingham, Kent – Hybrid working
We're supporting a fast-growing, complex retail business as they continue an ambitious transformation programme following significant private equity investment. Having approximately 5x turnover growth in 3 years, the business now operates across 11 retail locations with continued expansion planned.
As part of this growth, they're looking to appoint an experienced P2P Transformation Lead to design, strengthen, and professionalise the Purchase-to-Pay function. This is not a traditional Accounts Payable management role; instead, it's a business-critical project focused on reviewing current processes, identifying control weaknesses, and building a scalable P2P framework capable of supporting continued growth.
You'll work closely with Finance, Procurement, IT, Operations, and senior leadership to map existing processes, improve governance, and define how Purchase-to-Pay should operate going forward.
The Role
Reporting directly into senior finance leadership, you'll take ownership of reviewing the end-to-end Purchase-to-Pay lifecycle across the business.
Rather than managing the day-to-day Accounts Payable team, your focus will be on understanding how purchasing currently operates, documenting existing workflows, identifying control gaps, and designing practical improvements that balance operational efficiency with robust financial governance.
Working alongside an existing Business Analyst, you'll help bring together information from multiple stakeholders before creating a clear roadmap for future implementation across systems, processes, approvals, supplier management and governance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
