Programme Manager – Cost Out Workstream

We’re looking for a high-impact Programme Manager to lead a critical Cost Out workstream with accountability for governing and delivering a portfolio of initiatives targeting significant savings over the next three years.

This role will sit at the heart of our transformation agenda, working directly with senior stakeholders across Buying, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Retail, Property, IT, Finance, Legal and Compliance to ensure cost out initiatives are clearly defined, robustly governed, and delivered at pace.

You will play a pivotal role in driving financial discipline, ensuring benefits are realised and sustained, and that delivery is aligned to strategic priorities. Alongside programme delivery, you will also build and embed strong programme management capability across the workstream.

This is a full-time, office-based position for a 12-month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC).

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead end-to-end programme management of the Cost Out workstream, ensuring delivery of significant savings over a three-year horizon
  • Establish and operate robust governance, providing clear visibility of progress, risks, dependencies, and interventions required
  • Own programme planning, including roadmap development, prioritisation, resource planning, and critical path management
  • Drive benefits realisation, working closely with Finance to track, validate and embed cost savings
  • Line manage and develop a team of Project Managers, ensuring effective support to business leads delivering individual initiatives
  • Partner with functional leaders to shape, challenge and optimise initiatives to maximise value
  • Chair programme forums, working groups and sponsor sessions to ensure alignment, pace and accountability
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, issues and delivery blockers across the portfolio
  • Embed consistent programme management standards, tools and ways of working across the workstream

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
