Location: Reading (Hybrid Working, 2-3 days per week)

Lead Enterprise-Wide Change at the Heart of Digital Infrastructure

We're looking for an experienced Transformation Programme Manager to lead complex, business-critical programmes that drive strategic change across our organisation.

This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll work across multiple business functions, technology teams, suppliers, and senior stakeholders to ensure transformational initiatives are successfully delivered whilst achieving measurable business benefits.

What You'll Be Doing

As Transformation Programme Manager, you'll be accountable for designing, governing and delivering strategic transformation programmes that improve business performance, customer experience, operational resilience and commercial outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining transformation roadmaps aligned to business strategy.
  • Establishing effective programme governance, controls and reporting frameworks.
  • Leading complex, cross-functional programmes with multiple interdependent workstreams.
  • Managing programme risks, issues, dependencies and decision-making processes.
  • Driving stakeholder engagement across senior leadership teams and executive forums.
  • Overseeing supplier and partner performance to ensure successful delivery.
  • Ensuring robust financial management, budget control and benefits realisation.
  • Providing clear programme visibility and performance reporting to executive stakeholders.
  • Creating alignment across operational, technology and business teams.
  • Supporting organisational change and embedding sustainable transformation outcomes.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a proven programme leader who combines strategic thinking with strong delivery expertise.

Essential Experience

  • Extensive experience leading large-scale transformation programmes or portfolios within telecoms, technology, infrastructure, operations or business transformation environments.
  • Demonstrable success delivering complex change initiatives with significant operational, customer, commercial or regulatory impact.
  • Strong experience managing programme governance, delivery frameworks and executive reporting.
  • Experience influencing and challenging senior stakeholders, including executive leadership teams.
  • Proven track record of managing budgets, business cases, benefits realisation and financial performance.
  • Experience coordinating multiple suppliers, partners and matrix-managed teams.
  • Strong risk management, planning and programme control capabilities.
  • Ability to operate autonomously in complex and ambiguous environments.

Qualifications & Professional Development

Minimum:

  • Degree-level capability gained through formal education or significant relevant professional experience.

Preferred:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Telecommunications, Engineering, Business Management, Programme Management, Change Management, Operations Management or a related discipline.

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualification, chartered status or advanced professional experience demonstrating expertise in enterprise transformation and strategic delivery.

Additional Advantage:

  • MSP, PRINCE2, APM, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, Change Management or other relevant programme and transformation certifications.
