Transformation Project Accountant

A leading global organisation is seeking a Transformation Project Accountant to join their dedicated Finance Projects and Transformation team in Manchester. This role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal part in delivering the company's Finance Transformation Strategy, working on a diverse range of projects that span systems, processes, reporting, and financial modelling.

What you'll do

As a Transformation Project Accountant, you will immerse yourself in a collaborative environment where you drive meaningful change across finance operations. Your day-to-day activities will involve partnering with international colleagues to deliver complex transformation projects that improve systems like Oracle FCC while optimising processes for greater efficiency. You will coordinate closely with Project Managers to ensure seamless execution of key milestones. Building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels is essential for success in this role.

  • Lead and support a variety of finance transformation projects focused on system implementations, process optimisation, reporting development, restructuring and transition initiatives.
  • Coordinate project delivery by collaborating with dedicated Project Managers to ensure key actions, milestones, and deliverables are effectively managed throughout each project lifecycle.
  • Design and implement new or improved finance processes using both manual and system-driven solutions tailored to organisational needs.
  • Support system implementation and enhancement projects with particular emphasis on ongoing improvement and optimisation of Oracle FCC.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business—including senior leaders and international teams—to foster collaboration and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Assist in the implementation and development of US GAAP reporting standards to guarantee accurate and consistent financial reporting across all relevant markets.
  • Extract, analyse, and interpret financial data to inform project delivery as well as business decision-making processes.
  • Build reports and dashboards using tools such as Power BI and Power Query for presenting key insights and project updates to senior management.
  • Present updates and insights confidently to senior management through effective communication channels.
  • Adapt responsibilities as required by evolving business needs; this list may be amended or expanded over time.

What you bring

Your proven experience in process improvement and transformation equips you with the technical expertise needed for success in this role. You bring recognised accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA and have demonstrated your ability to thrive within finance project environments where transformation is central. Your familiarity with system implementations means you can contribute immediately to ongoing improvement efforts.

  • Qualified accountant status (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or QBE) is essential for this position.
  • Previous experience working within finance projects or transformation environments demonstrates your ability to navigate complex change initiatives.
  • Experience supporting finance system implementations or improvement projects is highly desirable and will enable you to add immediate value.
  • Understanding of financial reporting principles; experience with US GAAP is considered advantageous for this role.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills allow you to build relationships and influence senior stakeholders across Finance and the wider business network.
  • Strong data management capabilities paired with analytical skills; proficiency in tools such as Power BI or Power Query is highly beneficial.
