Purpose of the Role
This Transit Terminal Apprentice position offers a hands-on opportunity to develop key skills while supporting daily operations. The role emphasises a proactive, collaborative approach, allowing you to learn, grow, and contribute effectively to team success.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate handheld scanning devices to maintain accurate freight tracking
- Assist Short Distance (SD) drivers with freight loading/unloading
- Comply with manual handling and health & safety protocols
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment (general housekeeping)
- Collaborate with warehouse and transport teams to ensure operational efficiency
- Learn core terminal processes via practical training
- Progress to Material Handling Equipment (MHE) training upon meeting competencies
- Participate in:
- Team meetings
- Training sessions
- Health and safety compliance briefings

Requirements for Success
We’re looking for candidates with the following attributes:
- A strong interest in logistics/transport as a long-term career
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
- Effective communication and strong teamwork abilities
- Proactive, reliable, and adaptable approach
- Basic knowledge of health & safety and manual handling procedures
- Meticulous focus on detail and accuracy
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Flexibility to adapt to varied tasks and shift patterns
- (Advantage) Prior IT or scanning device experience
