JAB Recruitment is currently sourcing a Transition Assistant Project Manager on behalf of our Energy Operator client in Aberdeen on a 3 month PAYE basis initially.

This role will support the successful transition into a newly established development organisation, providing structured project management support across planning, governance, stakeholder engagement, business readiness, and change delivery.

The successful candidate will help maintain momentum across the transition programme, ensuring actions, decisions, risks, and key milestones are managed effectively and escalated where required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, maintain, and update the overall project plan.
  • Manage action trackers and decision logs.
  • Arrange project meetings and regular progress check-ins with action owners.
  • Provide clear status updates to senior leadership.
  • Prepare decision papers outlining options, recommendations, and required approvals.
  • Draft outsourced scopes of work based on team input.
  • Support outsourced work through the supply chain process.
  • Lead the set-up of the new management system.
  • Ensure leavers comply with company handover requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with management of change processes and reporting expectations.
  • Escalate issues, risks, and delays appropriately.
  • Champion organisational change in a positive and professional manner.
  • Prepare and facilitate readiness reviews at key milestones.
  • Coordinate input from a broad range of stakeholders and senior leaders.

  • Familiarity with project management fundamentals, including planning, risk management, and action tracking.
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder-management capability.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Microsoft Project.
  • Primavera P6 experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Experience supporting business change, transition, or organisational readiness programmes would be beneficial.
  • An understanding of carbon storage or the wider energy transition would be advantageous.
  • A degree in engineering, energy, economics, business management, or a related discipline is preferred but not essential.
  • Project management qualifications or professional accreditation would be beneficial.
