Job Title: Transition Manager
Location: Remote with occasional site visits
Day Rate: £450/day (INSIDE IR35)
Contract Length: 6 months (extendable)
Transition Manager - Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end transition of Application Support & Maintenance services from the incumbent service provider to the new service provider.
- Develop and manage detailed transition plans covering knowledge transfer, service readiness, operational processes, documentation, cutover, and BAU handover.
- Coordinate stakeholders across the client, incumbent supplier, incoming service provider, and technical teams to ensure a controlled and seamless transition.
- Manage transition governance, including RAID, risks, dependencies, milestones, service acceptance criteria, and operational readiness.
- Lead go-live, Early Life Support/hypercare, and stabilisation, ensuring transitioned services meet agreed operational and support requirements.

Transition Manager - Required Experience
- Proven experience as a Service Transition Manager / IT Transition Manager / Application Transition Manager, ideally within complex enterprise environments.
- Demonstrable experience transitioning Application Support & Maintenance services between service providers/suppliers.
- Strong understanding of ITIL Service Transition, including service acceptance, operational readiness, knowledge transfer, cutover, and BAU handover.
- Experience working with SAP and/or IBM Maximo environments is highly desirable; experience within utilities or other critical infrastructure organisations would be an advantage.
- Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple technical and business teams through complex transitions.
