About The Role
Based in our Employability Services team at our Chelmsford campus, you will play a key role in helping students and graduates achieve their career ambitions as they successfully transition into graduate level employment or further study. As a Transitions Career Consultant, you will design and deliver targeted careers and employability activities that help students and graduates build confidence, develop career management skills and achieve positive graduate outcomes.
- You will deliver one-to-one career guidance, workshops, initiatives and employability programmes that address barriers to progression and support students in achieving their career ambitions.
- You will collaborate with colleagues across Employability Services, academic faculties, the Alumni Office and external stakeholders to create impactful opportunities and enhance graduate success.
- You will use data, labour market intelligence and student insight to inform service delivery, evaluate impact and contribute to institutional priorities, including Graduate Outcomes and Access and Participation Plan objectives.
- As part of a collaborative and student-focused team, you will help shape innovative and evidence-based approaches to employability support.

Requirements:
- With a degree and relevant professional experience, or a combination of substantial experience and continuing professional development, you will have experience of careers guidance, employability support, graduate recruitment, coaching, or a similar environment.
- You will be confident delivering engaging workshops and one-to-one support, building effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and managing initiatives that deliver measurable impact.
- You will possess excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, alongside the ability to analyse information, evaluate outcomes and contribute to service improvement.
- Knowledge of graduate progression, employability and the challenges facing students and graduates in today's labour market will be essential.
- Most importantly, you will be committed to enhancing the student experience and helping learners achieve successful futures.
