About the Opportunity
The Translational Medicine Operations Lead will provide end-to-end operational management for the human biosample lifecycle and external testing strategies across both our preclinical and clinical trial portfolios. This dual-responsibility role bridges the gap between early-stage discovery and clinical execution. The successful candidate will ensure full compliance with ICH-GCP guidelines for clinical studies, while strictly governing the procurement, storage, and bench-use of "relevant material" under Human Tissue Authority (HTA) standards in the preclinical space.
In this role, the Translational Medicine Operations Lead will be responsible for:
Preclinical and Clinical Biomarker Study Execution
- Operationalise biomarker strategies across discovery, preclinical pipelines, and active clinical trial portfolios.
- Author, review, and refine biomarker sections of clinical trial protocols, site lab manuals, and Informed Consent Forms (ICFs).
- Integrate biosampling workflows seamlessly into preclinical in vitro/in vivo validation plans and clinical study designs.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
