At Siemens Electrification & Automation, we deliver critical infrastructure projects across the UK's transmission network, working with National Grid and major energy customers to support the future of the UK's power system.

As we continue to grow, we're building a talent community of experienced engineering professionals interested in future opportunities across our Protection & Control, Substation Automation and Commissioning teams.

Who are we looking for?

As we continue to support major National Grid and UK energy infrastructure projects, we're looking to connect with highly skilled engineering professionals who bring expertise in Protection & Control, Secondary Design, Substation Automation and Commissioning.

We'd particularly like to hear from TP141 Commissioning Engineers, Protection Engineers, Control Engineers, Transmission Engineers and P&C Design Engineers, as well as those with experience in IEC 61850, SCADA, SCS, SCMS, TP141 and National Grid transmission projects.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
