Job Description

Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity is now available for a Transport Administrator to join our team in Teynham on a full time permanent basis!

In this role you will provide a professional and proactive service regarding all transport administration requirements. To ensure accurate records are maintained, and reports provided as requested.

Salary: £28,389 to £33,106 per annum.

Working Hours: Sunday-Wednesday, 7am-7pm.


Key Duties of a Transport Administrator:

  • Support the management team with fleet related activities, liaising with service providers, arranging repairs and call outs.
  • Daily administration of the weekly trailer servicing schedule, identifying the current user and arranging for the trailers to be stood down.
  • Management of customer service-related incidents, liaising with customers, drivers, sub-contractors and network sites collating all required information and managing through to conclusion.
  • Dealing with customers / retailer representatives to determine validity of any claims.
  • Managing customer uplift return requests, ensuring product is returned to customers in a timely manner.
  • Completing daily KPI reports for Transport Supervisor and Transport / Operations Managers.
  • Requesting delivery bookings from retailers using web based booking portal systems.
  • Providing assistance and support to the Operations team on a daily basis.
  • Organising the filing of loading paperwork in an orderly fashion and arranging for archiving when applicable.
  • Review delivery on time performance daily, investigate late deliveries and compile reports to the wider team.
  • Direct contact with drivers ensuring accurate information is passed and understood at point of despatch and during journey to depot.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience within a similar transport management position in FMCG environment is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge and experience of tachographs, driving rules and regulations.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise workloads in order to meet set deadlines.
  • Have a professional and approachable character to ensure smooth running of the general operation.
  • Be customer service driven with strong negotiating skills and the ability to influence and steer.
  • Good IT skills including MS Office with a high level of numeracy and a keen eye for detail.
