Role Description
The Transport and Warehouse Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based near Bury St Edmunds. This role oversees daily transport operations, including planning delivery routes, allocating vehicles and drivers, monitoring schedules, and resolving transport issues to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. The manager also supervises warehouse activities such as goods receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch, ensuring stock accuracy, safe handling, and compliance with company procedures.

Daily responsibilities include:
- Managing staff rotas
- Coordinating with customers and suppliers
- Maintaining equipment and facility standards
- Updating systems and records

The role involves:
- Monitoring performance metrics

- Supporting training and development of the warehouse and transport team
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in transport management, including route planning, fleet coordination, and driver supervision.
- Practical experience in warehouse operations, including inventory control, goods handling, and dispatch processes.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate teams, manage rotas, and address performance issues.
- Solid organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under time pressure.
- Comfort with using logistics or warehouse management systems and standard office software for reporting and communication.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
- Sound understanding of health and safety requirements in transport and warehousing environments.
- Previous experience in logistics, distribution, or supply chain management; supervisory or management experience is strongly preferred.
- Relevant vocational training or qualifications in logistics, transport, or supply chain are beneficial; a valid driving license is an advantage.
