Transport Co-Ordinator
Menzies Distribution Solutions are currently looking for a Transport Co-Ordinator to join our busy team based in Carrington. You will be responsible for arranging the delivery of the customer's product on time and in full using the most cost effective means possible and best use of available resources, whilst complying with Transport Legislation and Health & Safety. You will maximize the utilization of the Menzies Fleet through efficient planning of deliveries and collections as well as maximized utilization of Menzies drivers in line with current driver's hours and WTD legislation.
The Details
- Salary: £31,159.32 Per Annum
- Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 05:30 - 15:00 - flexibility required in case of business needs
- Length of Shift: 9 Hours Plus Break
- Overtime: 1.5x after 45hrs
- Hours Per Week: 45 Average
Key Duties and Accountabilities
- Plan all relevant customer deliveries utilizing the software available at site to ensure delivery windows are met.
- Liaise with the Driver in relation to delays and possible issues with delivery.
- Liaise with the Customer in relation to delays and possible issues with delivery.
- Source local agency drivers as and when required (in conjunction with our PSL) providing an accurate brief of job required.
- Answering and responding to all incoming calls in a prompt and polite manner.
- Source local subcontractors as and when required.
- Monitor and chase documentation in support of the transport operation.
- Complete a load report in line with operational requirements and deadlines.
- Ensure loads meet safety standards.
- Manage the Drivers ensuring start times are adhered to
- Absence management, Investigation, disciplinary and accident investigations processes.
- Pre-Brief Drivers to ensure that they fully understand their instructions.
- De-Brief Drivers upon their return to ensure that all documentation has been completed correctly.
- Manage WTD Compliance
- Download Driver cards for analysis
- Comply with all Transport legislation reducing tachograph infringements to below the company target and adhering to WTD regulations.
- Conduct regular meetings/ reviews including probation assessments and return to work interviews.
- Ensure compliance with Agency Driver checklist.
- Communicate routes to and liaise with other Menzies Depots
- Administration of run shifts (file/ update globally)
- Fully understand agreed KPI's for Department
- All other transport office related duties
- Maintain a safe working environment that complies with all aspects of the company's H & S Policy

Key Experience and Qualifications
- Experience of working in a busy Transport office
- Knowledge of Drivers Hours, Tachograph and WTD legislation
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement.
- Good standard of education
- IT literate
- Knowledge of Health & Safety
- Commercial understanding
- Knowledge of transport systems.
