Transport & Depot Manager

Corby, Northamptonshire
£50,000 + Benefits

Newman Stewart is partnering with a growing, operationally focused business seeking to appoint a Transport & Depot Manager to take full ownership of a critical function within the organisation.

This is a high-impact leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape, improve and transform a transport operation that currently represents the business’s largest cost centre. We are looking for a commercially astute and driven leader who can deliver measurable improvements across efficiency, cost control and operational performance.

The Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will assume full responsibility for the transport department, driving standards, accountability and operational discipline. You will lead all aspects of transport operations, including planning, fleet performance, driver management and compliance, while identifying and delivering tangible cost-saving initiatives.

This is not an administrative role. It requires a hands-on, results-driven individual capable of making decisive changes and embedding a high-performance culture.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
