Role Description
The Transport Director (Medical) will lead and oversee all transport operations related to medical and healthcare logistics, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of time-critical and sensitive items. This full-time, on-site role based in Oxford involves:

The Transport Director will collaborate closely with clinical stakeholders, supply chain, warehousing, and external partners to support end-to-end medical logistics and continuous service improvement. The position also requires:
- Budget ownership
- Data-driven decision-making
- Leadership in driving operational excellence, staff development, and customer-focused outcomes
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in transport, logistics, or supply chain, ideally within medical, pharmaceutical, or healthcare environments.
- Strong operational management skills, including route planning, fleet management, resource allocation, and performance monitoring.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements for medical transport, including safety, governance, and quality standards.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead diverse teams, support professional development, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience collaborating across clinical, commercial, and operational functions.
- Proficiency in using transport management systems, data analysis, and reporting tools to drive efficiency and informed decision-making.
- Strong commercial awareness, with experience managing budgets, contracts, and service-level agreements in a complex logistics setting.
- Relevant professional qualification or degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field; advanced or specialist transport qualifications are an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Oxford, make timely decisions under pressure, and manage time-critical medical deliveries.
