Job Title
Pay Rate: £30,000 per annum - Plus Annual performance related bonus
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns:
- 06.00am - 14.00pm Mondays
- 08:00 - 16:00 Tuesday to Friday (Flexibility is required)
Location: Ashton Under Lyne, OL7 0AX
Are you an experienced transport professional with a passion for leading teams and driving operational excellence?
We are looking for a Transport First Line Manager to join our fast-paced operation, where you will play a key role in managing daily transport activities, ensuring compliance, and supporting a high-performing team.

What You'll Do
- To supervise, implement and coordinate productivity by communicating job expectations to direct line reports, ensuring that all deadlines are safely met within allocated time frames, while always maintaining standards of excellence
- Ensure drivers are legal and compliant on a daily and weekly basis and ensure clear communication between all functions within the transport department and the warehouse team
- To lead the work activities of the drivers and the transport clerical team, providing effective leadership, communication, motivation, training and development
- Carrying out HR Management tasks such as staff reviews, appraisals, absence management and disciplinaries

What You'll Bring
- Proven people management experience within a transport environment, with the ability to lead, motivate and develop teams
- Previous experience working within a transport office or wider supply chain operation
- Strong understanding of working within a unionised environment and building positive working relationships
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications; experience using Tachomaster is desirable
- Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to embrace change and support the implementation of new processes and ways of working
- International CPC level 3 qualification would be advantageous but not essential
