Transport & Logistics Manager | UK Transport, Fleet & International Logistics
About the Role
Keep 14 drivers moving. Keep the UK operation running. Get machinery across Europe.
We're looking for an experienced Transport & Logistics Manager to take ownership of our UK transport operation, managing a team of around 14 drivers and ensuring collections, deliveries and vehicle movements are planned, compliant and delivered efficiently.
You'll also coordinate international logistics across Germany, Italy and France, working with internal teams, third-party hauliers and freight providers to keep machinery and goods moving. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where plans can change quickly. If you're organised, resilient and confident leading people, managing compliance and solving problems, you'll have real ownership and the opportunity to make a visible impact.

At Safetykleen, we provide essential parts cleaning, waste collection and environmental advisory services that help customers reduce their environmental footprint and boost operational performance.
With operations in 15 countries and over 1 million services delivered each year, you'll be joining a stable, growing business with a fast-paced, high-impact and agile environment, where sustainability and long-term customer partnerships are at the heart of what we do.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and support a team of 14 transport drivers, ensuring strong performance, safety, compliance and accurate driver records.
- Own the UK transport planner, scheduling collections, deliveries and vehicle movements up to 10 days ahead, while adapting quickly to changing priorities.
- Ensure transport compliance, including Operator Licence requirements, drivers’ hours, Working Time Regulations, tachographs and ADR.
- Coordinate UK and European logistics, including machinery and goods movements to Germany, Italy and France, working with internal teams, freight forwarders, carriers and customs agents.
- Manage third-party transport providers, negotiating rates, raising POs, reviewing costs and ensuring the right balance of service, compliance and value.
- Monitor and improve transport performance, investigating service failures and incidents, producing reports and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, systems and processes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
