As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Transport Manager to take ownership of our transport operation and ensure our products are delivered safely, efficiently and on time across our retail network.
The Opportunity
This is a senior operational leadership role responsible for the overall management of our transport function. You'll lead a team of drivers and transport colleagues, ensuring legal compliance, operational efficiency and exceptional service delivery to our shops.
You will play a key role in driving continuous improvement, managing fleet performance and supporting the future growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day transport operation.
- Ensure full compliance with Operator Licence requirements and all transport legislation.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance programmes, fleet availability and roadworthiness.
- Manage driver compliance, including Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive, Tachograph Regulations and Driver CPC requirements.
- Develop and manage driver rotas across a 24/7, 7-day operation.
- Monitor and improve transport KPIs relating to safety, quality, service and cost.
- Manage transport budgets including fuel, maintenance, overtime and agency spend.
- Investigate incidents, non-conformances and customer service issues, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Lead, coach and develop the transport team to deliver high performance and engagement.
- Work closely with Production, Despatch, Engineering and Retail teams to ensure excellent service delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across transport and logistics operations.

About You
We're looking for a strong leader with extensive transport management experience and a passion for operational excellence.
Essential Requirements
- Transport Manager CPC qualification.
- Proven experience managing a transport or logistics operation.
- Strong understanding of Operator Licence compliance and transport legislation.
- Experience managing vehicle maintenance and fleet performance.
- Knowledge of Drivers' Hours, Tachograph and Working Time regulations.
- Experience leading and developing operational teams.
- Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and transport management systems.

Desirable
- Experience within food manufacturing, food distribution or FMCG environments.
- Knowledge of route optimisation and transport planning.
- Experience managing change and continuous improvement projects.
- Understanding of fleet replacement and capital investment planning.
