We produce bread and bakery products created with Hovis goodness at the heart of each. We deliver around 1.3million loaves, every day of the week throughout the UK and Ireland, where we also make Mothers Pride and Ormo products.

We are 2,800 people working within 8 bakeries, 1 flour mill, and 2 regional distribution centres across the UK. Hovis Avonmouth is looking for a hands-on Transport Manager to lead our busy transport operation and keep our iconic products moving safely and efficiently across the region.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing and supporting our team of drivers and shift managers
  • Ensuring legal compliance & safety standards (including O-Licence responsibilities)
  • Keeping the fleet operation efficient, on-time and cost-effective
  • Monitoring KPIs and improving performance across the transport team
  • Working with planning, production and customer teams to keep everything moving
  • Promoting a positive safety culture, leading by example

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong transport or logistics background (HGV experience a real advantage)
  • Experience leading a team – Must have experience building and nurturing relationships with drivers
  • Good understanding of compliance, safety and transport regulations
  • A calm, practical, “get things done” approach
  • Someone comfortable working in a fast-paced FMCG environment
  • CPC in Road Haulage (essential)
