Are you a motivated and experienced Local Transport Manager seeking a new challenge?

Reynolds Logistics has an exciting opportunity for you at our new West London depot. In this role, you will manage and supervise our driver workforce across our new Depot in West London Terminal. Shift: Monday – Friday – Flexibility is required

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Adhere to and promote a safe working environment
  • Holder of the site(s) O licence and relevant responsibilities
  • Day to day running of the Transport Fleet and efficient problem solving through liaising with other departments in the business
  • Assist with executing the daily plan for all deliveries and collections, with a keen eye on resource available at site and keep the customer updated
  • Manage an efficient and robust driver roster, looking for ways to increase area utilisation and efficiency
  • Monitor driver’s hours, vehicle cleanliness, and vehicle checks
  • Ensure supplier related costs remain within budget
  • Ensure all related Transport documents are properly completed, whilst assisting in the company's drive to a paperless solution
  • Responsibility for a safe working environment, including but not limited to any safety related investigations or audits
  • Liaise with Driver Training providers to ensure drivers are kept up to date with all aspects of training as well as monitoring behaviour improvements where possible
  • Assist with investigations into non-compliance
  • Liaise with Customers on specific region requirements around driver inductions / delivery qualifications / driver numbers / Vehicle numbers
  • Work closely with other Transport Managers to ensure any shared resource is utilised efficiently to ensure full-service delivery to the customer
  • Required to cover numerous depots so the ability to travel independently
  • Cross pollination of holiday cover required for other Local Transport Managers

Skills And Requirements

  • Previous experience supervising and managing drivers is essential
  • Good understanding of relevant driver legislation: Working Time Directive, Tachograph Legislation
  • International Transport Managers CPC is advantageous, although there will be the opportunity to acquire this for the right candidate
  • Strong interpersonal skills with good leadership ability
  • Conversant in IT skills e.g., Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
  • Competent in and experience of incident investigations
  • Experience of a unionised workforce is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a Team
  • Ability to motivate and encourage others
  • Willingness to learn and adapt as the business changes
  • Continuous Improvement mind-set
  • Full Driving licence is essential
