Transport Manager
We are looking for a Transport Manager to join our UK operation based in St Helens.
The role will focus primarily on the effective day-to-day management of the transport operation, ensuring high standards of service, safety, compliance, and operational performance.
This is a role for someone who knows transport, enjoys working close to the operation, and is looking for an opportunity to develop their responsibilities and career within an international logistics organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day transport operation and ensuring reliable service delivery
- Coordinating transport planning, scheduling, and available resources
- Supporting effective fleet utilisation and productivity
- Working closely with the operational team and drivers
- Monitoring service quality and operational performance
- Ensuring compliance with UK transport legislation, health & safety requirements, and company standards
- Management of transport-related costs and operational efficiency
- Maintaining strong day-to-day relationships with customers
- Monitoring service levels and responding to operational issues
- Working with subcontractors and external partners where required
- Identifying practical opportunities to improve processes and ways of working
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and development of operational employees
- Preparing and monitoring relevant operational KPIs
- Cooperating with colleagues across the Group and supporting the implementation of Group processes and standards

Essential Experience and Skills
- Previous experience in road transport, logistics, or a related operational environment
- Good understanding of day-to-day transport operations
- Experience working with operational teams and drivers as an advantage
- Good organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and respond effectively to operational challenges
- Understanding of transport compliance and UK transport regulations
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
- Good command of English and Polish as an advantage
