Taking responsibility for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of a transport network while leading and developing a team of drivers.
Client Details
Our client is a growing and ambitious organisation operating within a fast-paced distribution and logistics environment. Due to continued growth and investment in their transport function, they are seeking an experienced Transport Manager to lead operational performance, drive efficiencies, and support the expansion of their delivery network.
Description
As Transport Manager, you will take ownership of daily transport operations, ensuring a safe, compliant, and customer-focused service. You will play a key role in delivering operational improvements, enhancing fleet performance, and supporting future growth plans.

- Managing day-to-day transport operations to ensure high levels of service and operational efficiency.
- Leading and developing a team of drivers, promoting performance, engagement, and compliance.
- Monitoring transport KPIs and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Driving route optimisation and fleet utilisation to maximise operational effectiveness.
- Managing transport compliance, vehicle maintenance, and health & safety standards.
- Producing operational reports and performance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders to enhance processes, systems, and customer service delivery.
- Supporting fleet growth and wider transport development projects.
Profile
The successful candidate is likely to demonstrate:
- Previous experience in a Transport Manager, Transport Operations Manager, or similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of transport operations, fleet management, and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing drivers and leading high-performing operational teams.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance service, cost, and efficiency.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- Advanced Excel and reporting capabilities would be advantageous.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
