Do you thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment and enjoy finding the most effective solutions to complex planning challenges?

As a Transport Network Planner at our Manton Wood site, you'll be responsible for building and managing transport plans across a busy network, ensuring deliveries are completed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with customer expectations. Working closely with customers and operational teams, you'll be at the heart of keeping our network moving.

A Typical Day May Involve

  • Develop efficient and cost-effective transport plans across multiple sites, ensuring daily delivery volumes are routed in the most logical and profitable way
  • Manage and prioritise a daily workload of customer orders, liaising directly with customers to schedule deliveries and meet service requirements
  • Build a strong understanding of customer profiles, delivery patterns and network requirements to optimise route planning and resource utilisation
  • Collaborate with transport, warehouse, customer service teams, DHL customers and end delivery points to ensure seamless operational execution and high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Drive network performance by achieving key KPI and SLA targets, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and enhancing the efficiency of transport operations across the wider network

This Role Would Suit People Who

  • Proven experience in transport route planning across a multi-site network, managing deliveries for a diverse customer base in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make effective decisions and respond quickly to changing operational requirements
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities, consistently meeting strict deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Confident IT user with strong Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams skills; experience using transport planning systems is advantageous, although full training will be provided on bespoke systems
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across transport, warehouse and customer-facing teams
