Logistics Manager - Kirkcaldy
You will be responsible for overseeing the logistics function and the day-to-day transport activities at our Kirkcaldy site, ensuring the fleet is operated and maintained in full compliance with our O-Licence obligations. This role involves effective planning and allocation of loads, making sure the correct products reach the correct customers on time. You will also work collaboratively with the Transport Operations Manager, Fleet Compliance Manager, and Driver Trainer to support safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

Hours: The shift pattern for this role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Additional hours may be required to meet the needs of the business.
The Role
- Overall responsibility for the day to day running of the Transport operation on site.
- In conjunction with the Transport Operations Manager, control spend against budget.
- Ensuring the operation meets its performance and safety targets, monitoring it and reporting to Senior Management.
- O Licence responsibility.
- Ensuring that all operations are carried out in accordance with UK and European Union laws and regulations, particularly relating to Health and Safety.
- Lead by example and promote positivity and professionalism throughout your team.
- Maintaining high levels of service performance.
- Oversee planning and fleet utilisation to ensure customer requirements are met and orders fulfilled. Allocating resource to planned requirements ensuring effective equipment utilisation.
- Ensuring that driver holidays, paperwork and overtime requests are processed and organised.
- Driving best practice, team development and effective communication.
- Coaching and leading the team to maintain motivation and engagement.
- Managing your people’s performance in line with Company policies and procedures.
- Identifying areas for improvement and delivering results.
- Improving operational efficiencies and driving change.
- Managing relationships with suppliers.
- Work closely with the Fleet Compliance Manager to ensure high standards of vehicle presentation are maintained.

About You
- Proven experience in a similar transport or logistics supervisory role.
- Hold a CPC National Certificate.
- Strong decision-making abilities with excellent prioritisation skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
- Confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- A flexible, proactive attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Demonstrated motivational, team-building, and leadership capabilities.
- Results-driven, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Desirable
- IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
- Experience working within a unionised environment.
- Previous experience in bulk tanker operations.
