Role Description
The Transport Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in the Woolpit Office between Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds. The individual will coordinate and schedule vehicle movements, ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely, legally, and on time. Daily tasks include:

- Monitoring transport plans
- Communicating with drivers and customers
- Updating systems with real-time transport data

The role also involves:
- Checking compliance with transport regulations
- Supporting fleet utilization
- Collaborating with warehouse and operations teams to optimize load planning
The Transport Operator will contribute to continuous improvement in service levels, efficiency, and safety across the transport operation.
Qualifications
- Strong transport planning and scheduling abilities, with experience coordinating vehicle routes and delivery timelines.
- Knowledge of UK road transport regulations, health and safety standards, and compliance requirements.
- Competence using transport management or logistics software, as well as general IT skills (e.g., MS Office).
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy and reliability.
- Previous experience in transport, logistics, or supply chain operations is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in the Greater Ipswich Area, with flexibility to support operational requirements.
- Relevant qualifications in logistics, transport management, or a related field are an advantage but not mandatory.
