Transport Planner 4/4 Days - Position Overview

Our client is a market-leading provider of integrated road and rail freight logistics, offering a wide range of services including container transport and storage, domestic distribution, warehousing, freight management, and truck sales.
We are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner to join their busy depot at London Gateway. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a well-established logistics company.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate multiple drivers daily
- Liaise directly with UK ports to book delivery slots
- Use the TOPS transport system to record drivers' start and finish times
- Monitor ETAs and ensure timely deliveries
- Reroute jobs efficiently when required
- Ensure all PODs (Proof of Deliveries) are accurately matched with corresponding jobs in the system
- Communicate with customers regarding potential delays and delivery updates

Requirements
- Proven experience in transport operations - essential
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong geographical knowledge of the UK
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Quick thinking with strong problem-solving skills
- Highly organised and detail-oriented
- Flexibility to meet business demands
- Container experience - desirable
Remuneration & Benefits
- Working Hours: 4 on, 4 off (06:00-18:00)
- Salary will be dependent on experience
